Revitalising Francis Brown's brand identity and visual style to celebrate over a century of leadership in fabrication and engineering.
Studio case studyProject Overview
To mark their 120th year and prepare them for the future, I worked with the team at Better Studio to create a revitalised brand identity and an extended visual style for Francis Brown. At its heart is a bold monogram that symbolises progression and forward motion. This concept was expanded into a complete visual system, spanning typography, colour and layout, to create consistency across every touchpoint. The result is a renewed identity that honours Francis Brown's heritage while positioning the brand confidently for the next 120 years.

Revealing a cohesive brand style
I designed an new icon style based on the brand accent font, Coanda by Cotype — a forward-looking typeface with bold, modular forms. Drawing from the horizontal lines within the logomark, all new brand elements reinforce the visual rhythm. The primary brand imagery features transparent frosted fractal glass overlays with intentional openings that reveal the craft and engineering beneath. These horizontal lines also appear throughout applications as subtle design elements and form the foundation of a distinctive graphic style.
